The relief effort for Peru held at Hialeah’s Milander Park on August 19th, was a great success. Hialeahtodo.com and Ingenicard, US would like to thank the entire community for their support and tremendous generosity. Once again Hialeah was asked to lend a helping hand to those in need and like so many times in the past, it came through with flying colors.
The constant flow of vehicles bringing the needed resources started early in the morning and did not stop all day long. “It seems that we have done this so many times that our citizens know exactly what is needed” said President of Hialeahtodo.com, Felix Chinea. Clothing, water, can goods, medicine and pampers never stopped coming. When it was all said and done three eighteen wheelers donated by FedEx were full to the top.
It was supposed to be a party and it became a relief effort. Milander Auditorium was decorated with large banners created for the huge celebration that never happened. Instead, the party promoters became the main volunteers and the coordinators of the relief effort.
Important community figures such as Councilman Jose “Pepe” Yedra, Hialeah Chief of Police Rolando Bolaňos, members of The Hialeah Chamber of Commerce, President of Ingenicard Juan Valmaňa, President of Hialeahtodo.com Felix Chinea, Vice -President of Hialeahtodo.com Alex Martinez, Benny Hevia of Omega Retirement and many others represented our community by volunteering and providing a helping hand.
